Rosemary Glover

Rosemary Campbell Glover, 91, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. She was born December 30, 1927, in Dumas, Arkansas, the daughter of James Richmond Campbell and Anna Melinda Cramer Campbell.

Rosemary spent her childhood in Dumas. She became a Christian in her youth and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Dumas. After graduating from Dumas High School, she entered Arkansas Baptist Nursing Program and graduated a registered nurse. It was at this time when she met the love of her life, Roy Henry Glover, Jr. and they were married on June 28, 1948. After Roy completed his military service they established their home in North Little Rock. During her career as a nurse, Rosemary worked at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock and Fort Roots Veterans Hospital in North Little Rock. She retired at age 50 to spend time with her growing family.

Rosemary was a long-time member of Sylvan Hills Community Church in North Little Rock where she and Roy worshiped and served. “Rosie”, as she was known and loved by family and friends, was a wonderful cook and was blessed with the gift of hospitality. Their home was always filled with family and friends, great food and funny stories. Many will treasure the memory of Rosie in her kitchen talking and laughing with those she loved. She had a unique way with her contagious smile and a twinkle in her eye to let you know that you were special and treasured by her.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Roy, her parents, James and Anna Campbell, and siblings Betty Sanderson, Virginia Johnson, James Campbell, Jr., Merle Trussell, Helen Leftwich, and Kitty Glover. She is survived by four children, son, James Henry Glover and wife Anne of North Little Rock, daughter, Robin Ann Glover George and husband Gary of Springdale, son, George Albert Glover and wife Cindy of Sherwood, and daughter, Lois Kathleen Glover of North Little Rock; six granddaughters, Molly Knutson and husband Zak of Los Angeles, Mary Kathryn Brown and husband Matthew of Fayetteville, Julie Swope and husband Patrick of Rogers, Courtney Rector and husband Joey of Little Rock, Natalie Inmon Davis of Scott and Meredith Lauren Glover of North Little Rock; four grandsons, Rustin Glover and wife Gretchen of Little Rock, Charles George and wife Samantha of Springdale, Carl George and wife Anna of Fayetteville, and George Glover and wife Kelli of North Little Rock. Rosemary is also survived by great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Davis, Bailey Brown, Campbell Brown, Sofia Glover, Lillian George, Ella George and Shiloh George; great-grandsons, Hayden Swope, Carter Swope, Brayden Glover, Sam Glover, Asher George, Garrick George, Charlie Glover, Liam Rector, Campbell Glover, Beckett George and Cooper Glover; sister, Sue Wallace of Cherry Valley, California and one brother-in-law, Robert Lee Glover and wife, Willie of Lonoke.

Rosemary lived a very full and joyful life, and she will be missed and remembered by all.

The family wishes to thank the staff and many friends of Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care the past three years, and Kindred Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to Sylvan Hills Community Church, Arkansas Children’s or the charity of your choice.

A visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. A private burial will be held at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery in North Little Rock.
