Rose Hess Schlatterer, 94, of North Little Rock, Arkansas graduated to her new heavenly appointment on Wednesday August 28, 2024. She was born in Conway, Arkansas, Jan 7, 1930, the daughter of Edward T. Hess and Loretta J. Hess. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William F. Schlatterer, her brother Augustine T Hess, and both parents.
She is survived by her son, William F. (wife, JoBeth) Schlatterer Jr., her daughter Lynne (husband, Doug) Eller, and three beloved grandchildren Braedon D. (fiancé, Samanta Nobles) Eller, Lauren E. Eller, Reese (wife, Maggie) Eller, step-granddaughter Rene Calhoun, step-great grandson Wyatt Calhoun and her younger brother Edward T. Hess of Conway, Arkansas.
Rose graduated as a Mount Saint Mary Academy “Belle” in 1948. Always the student, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Later in life, she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education from UCA as well. She began her teaching career at Saint Patrick’s school in North Little Rock enthusiastically sharing her love of learning and her most positive “can do” attitude with her children and all her students for the 19 years she taught at St. Patrick’s. She followed that with an appointment as school principal at Saint Mary’s Catholic School where she served and lead the team for 7 years until her retirement in 1990.
Always a very spiritual person, Rose was a long-time member, supporter, and active participant of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sherwood, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar Society. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Rose will always be remembered for her obvious love, devotion, and dedication to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In all ways, she was the mom you always wanted and the one that was always there when needed. As her family, we will never forget that special love today, tomorrow, or ever.
