Rose Saba

Rose Marie Saba, 91, of Sherwood passed from this life on March 29, 2021. She was born September 15, 1929 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Harold G. and Dorothea A. Lesner Markel. Rose Marie was devoted to her Catholic faith and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She always found her greatest happiness in her faith and her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband of sixty years Louis J. Saba Sr. and brother, Gordon C. Markel precedes her in death.

Left to mourn her passing are her children Wadia Marie (Louis) Meriwether of Sherwood, Louis J. (Nita) Saba Jr. of Batesville, Mississippi, Keith G. (Kay) Saba of Sherwood; grandchildren, Louis G. Meriwether Jr., Robert L. (Ashley) Saba, and Elizabeth Anne (Michael) Sills. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Christopher M. Sills, Audriana I. Meriwether and Emma C. Sills along with a host of extended family and friends.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Rose Marie’s memory. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a mass be said on her behalf.
