Roscoe Greene Jennings, Jr. (Rick), 75, of Little Rock, died Sunday, July 30, 2023. Rick was born on February 23, 1948 in Little Rock, AR to the late Roscoe Greene Jennings (Rocky) and Mae Josephine (Jo) Kerr Jennings. Rick was also the great, great grandson of Dr. Roscoe Greene Jennings, one of the eight founders of the Arkansas Industrial University Medical Department, now the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Rick was a 1965 graduate of Hot Springs High School, and he attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was a Navy veteran and retired from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Little Rock Regional Office, on March 3, 2003.
Rick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Oglesby Jennings, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tony Shepherd, and his amazing granddaughter, Zoe Shepherd. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Derek and Keina Jennings, his niece, Alison Jennings of Hot Springs, AR, and niece, Stephanie and Xavier McGill of Sherwood, AR, his aunt and uncle, Sue and George Beley of Tyronza, AR, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam Oglesby and Callan Nagle of Pinehurst, NC and many cousins, including his best friend, Bill Kerr of Maumelle, AR.

If you would like to visit with family and friends, a casual visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, AR 72205.
