Rosalyn "Kay" Pennington Richards, age 61, of Scott, passed away unexpectedly November 14, 2018.
She is survived by her husband John Paul Richards; sister Lori Van Lytle (Jack) of Little Rock; niece, Jennifer Rogers (Ryan) of OKC and her sons, Caleb, Levi, and Samuel; nephew, David Van Barnett and his son, Van. She is preceded in death by her parents, Van Pennington, Jr. and Bobbye Tarvin Crowder, and sister, Lisa Marshall.
Kay was a proud alumni of the University of Arkansas, baritone player in the Razorback marching band, and veteran of the Arkansas National Guard Band. She passed on her love of music as a band director at Fuller Jr. High and Sylvan Hills Jr. and Sr. High School for 30 years, leading some of the best bands in the state. She loved travelling and taking spontaneous adventures with her husband, especially to the beach and the St. Louis Cardinals games. She was an excellent fisherman and deer and duck hunter, usually with her dog by her side, which she also enjoyed training and running in field trials. She was a devoted wife and sister and greatly loved by her niece and nephew and their kids.
A visitation to celebrate her life will be November 19 from 4:00-6:00pm at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
