Ronald Greer Thompson, 79, of Little Rock, a loving husband and father, passed away January 5, 2016. Born in Little Rock to Harold and Gertrude Markowski Thompson, he served as a pilot and CW4 in the AR Army National Guard and was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Ronald retired as a Project Manager from AFCO Steel following 42 years of service. He was a member of the Exchange Club, Optimist Club of Greater Little Rock (a past president) and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Damon Miller, he is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Thompson; daughters, Anne Mancino (Mike) of Little Rock, Susan Thompson (Don Watt) of Sydney, Australia, and Paula Wood of Little Rock; son, Ronald G. Thompson, Jr. (Brian Fender) of Little Rock; sisters, Linda Fanning (David) of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Mary Helen Donkers of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; grandchildren, Alexis Miller, Sarah Heringer (Hunter Beard), Atlee Erickson, Parker Mancino, Samantha Ready, Alyssa Miller, Derrell Wood III (Amanda), Jake Wood and Abigail Wood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8 beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 6:30 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church.
