Ronald Lynn Smyres

78 Years of Age

Born in Midland, Texas

Resided in Sherwood, Arkansas

Survived by his wife Patricia Ann Casbeer Smyres, as well as, their daughter, Stacey Ann Smyres Martin, and son-in-law, James Timothy Sutterfield; daughter-in-law, Paula Rae Mitchell Smyres; grandsons, Ryan Thomas Smyres, Landon Michael Martin, Garon Christopher Martin and wife, Brandie Ridinger Martin; along with sister, Donna Gene Smyres Reardon and husband Tim Reardon.  Ron is also survived by numerous other family members that loved him greatly.

Ron was preceded in death by with parents, Lynn Edwin Smyres and Nellie Louise Patton Smyres, as well as, son, Ronald Lynn Smyres, Jr.

Ron was a Master Sergeant (Retired) from the United States Air Force where he served twenty-two years in the medical field.  As a civilian he continued his nursing career and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Park College.

Ron loved to fish, which he did not get to do often enough, and referred to fishing as “drowning worms”.  He always enjoyed watching all of his grandsons play football throughout the years.  Ron had a fierce love for his home state of Texas, but that love did not compare to the love he had for his wife of fifty-eight years and his family.

We love you Pappa Bear, hope you are getting Ronnie to drown some worms with you.  We miss you both immensely!
