Ronald Joseph Shaban passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home in Benton. Ronald was born in Brinkley on February 13, 1936 to Joseph J. and Louise Ann Ashy Shaban.

Ronald graduated with honors from Brinkley High School in 1954 where he was on the Tiger football team. Ronald was very gifted in art and painting. He designed a car for the Archie and Veronica comic books which was used as Ritchie Rich's car in many editions of the comic series. He also did a lot of art work for the Citizen Newspaper School News and for Shaban's clothing store, motel and Airline Café.
Ronald graduated from Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennesee, with honors, in May of 1960 with a Bachelor of Science and a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe Shaban, Jr., two sisters, Margaret Shaban Blessing and Sylvia Shaban Murtishaw, and one nephew, James Gregory Murtishaw. He is survived by his brother, Donald J. Shaban and wife Sandra of Sherwood, two nieces, Teri Carlson and husband Jeff of Cordova, Tennessee, and Debbie Moye and husband Rob of Theodore, Alabama; two nephews, Joey Shaban of Sunnvale, California and Ronnie J. Shaban of Augusta; one great nephew, D.J. Kirkpatrick; three great-nieces, Lindsey Kirkpatrick of Cordova, Tennessee, Taylor Moye of Theodore, Alabama, and Sarah Shaban of Sunnyvale, California; and a host of cousins in Louisiana.

Funeral services will be announced by Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
