In Memoriam: Ronald “Ron” Dalvin Krueger (July 29, 1943 - July 23, 2023)
Ronald “Ron” Dalvin Krueger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, peacefully entered heaven on July 23, 2023, at the age of 79. Surrounded by his loving family, Ron passed away at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Throughout his life, Ron remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to the Lutheran Church, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service.
Born on July 29, 1943, in Holyoke, Colorado, Ron was the eldest child of Dalvin Hugo and Lucille Ruth Nierman Krueger. His early spiritual journey began when he was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst, Colorado, on August 12, 1943. Ron attended Parochial school until November 1956 when his family relocated to Red Cloud, Nebraska. In June 1957, he was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Red Cloud, Nebraska, and in June 1961, he graduated from Concordia Lutheran in Seward, Nebraska.
Ron's commitment to serving his country led him to join the United States Air Force in 1963, where he dutifully served until 1966. On February 25, 1966, he married the love of his life, Russlynn Curtis, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that spanned 57 joyous years.
Professionally, Ron dedicated three decades of his life to IBM, contributing his expertise to the world of information technology. Following his retirement in 1996, he continued to share his talents and knowledge, working for Acxiom for an additional eight years before retiring for good in 2004. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron was an avid tennis player during the 90s, finding joy and camaraderie on the court.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Wade Kreie; and a grandson, Matthew Chase Krueger. He leaves behind a cherished family who will forever treasure his memory. Surviving Ron is his loving wife, Russlynn; their four children: Robert (Minnie) Krueger, Necole Krueger Kreie, Paul Krueger, and Laine (Wendy) Krueger. Additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Judith (John) Koski and Kathryn Lockhart; and his brother, Byron (Denice) Krueger. Ron's legacy also extends to nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
His cherished grandchildren include: Matthew Krueger, Nathaniel Alkire, Clinton (Abby) Kreie, Aaron Johnson, Alex (Elisa) Kreie, Tori (Rodrigo) Sanchez, Meagan (Ben) Musgrove, Kali Whitlow, and Zachary Krueger. His heart was further filled with love by his great-grandchildren: Jocelyn and Trinity Alkire, January Kreie, Matt and Caleb Johnson, Piper, Aria and Hayleigh Kreie, Calvin, Owen, Sofi and Andrew Sanchez, Aubrey and Madison Musgrove, and Willow Whitlow.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5th, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, located at 322 North Market Street in Benton, Arkansas. The visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the service commencing at 10:00 AM. The gathering will be an opportunity to celebrate Ron's life, honor his memory, and find comfort and support in the presence of family and friends.
In loving remembrance, Ron's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of heaven.
