Ronald Gene "China Bear" Christenberry, age 62, of Pencil Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was born on July 10, 1953, in Eureka, California, the son of J. W. Christenberry and Loeta Fryar Christenberry. On August 6, 1982, he was married to Pamela Ann Blevins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Delbert and Nora Fryar Carmack and J. C. and Beulah Thompson Christenberry; his niece, Priscilla Bailey; and his beloved brother-in-law and friend, Randy Blevins. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea during the time of the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the Christian Mission Ministries (CMM) in Pencil Bluff, and a self-employed logger for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and riding his Harley. Ronald's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, who he deeply loved and cherished. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Christenberry of Pencil Bluff; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jesse Christenberry and Jerry and Shona Christenberry, all of Pencil Bluff; four grandchildren, Kyle, Rylee, Jacob and Joshua; one brother, Jimmy Christenberry of Pencil Bluff; his aunt, Patricia Thacker; two uncles and aunts, Lee Roy and Patsy Fryar and Bob and Barbara Fryar, all of Pencil Bluff; his niece, Christina Manus; many loving extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2016, in the Christian Mission Ministries (CMM) in Pencil Bluff with Bro. Brent Furr officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pencil Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jerry Christenberry, Jesse Christenberry, Jimmy Cloud, Hop Spurling, Donnie Lavender, Bruce Bridges, Jeff Moran and Tony Thacker.
