Ronald John Bank, 75, passed away in Little Rock on November 5, 2022. Ron was born in Jamaica, New York and grew up on Long Island. He went to Peekskill Military Academy where he made “All American” in swimming and later for Arizona State University where he was a member of the Sun Devils Swim Team. He was a member of both the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the Arkansas Swimming Hall of Fame. He was active in master’s Swimming for many years.

Ron co-founded Thompson Electric in Mabelvale, Arkansas where he served as Vice-President for 18 years. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club and numerous organizations over the years. After retiring from Thompson Electric Ron taught Construction Management for twelve years at UALR where he enjoyed interacting with the faculty and students. He enjoyed travel and accomplished his goal of spending an accumulated year exploring the world from the deck of a cruise ship.

Ron was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was looking forward to the graduations of his grandchildren in the spring of 2023, Kendra from Veterinary school at Auburn and Clayton from Colorado State University.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Morton and Kathleen and his older brother Richard. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay, his daughter Stacia Delaney, son Justin Bank and grandchildren Kendra and Clayton Delaney. He is also survived by His sister Barbara Milon, brother Edward Bank, brother-in-law Ray Bullock and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the RC & Roberta Bullock Scholarship Fund at UALR or the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
