Ronald (Ronnie) Neilson Baird, 71, of North Little Rock, passed away on September 11, 2020. He was born February 27, 1949 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the late Charles Neilson and Lillian Blanche Holder Baird.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Barbara, Sister Linda (George) Smith; daughters Angela, Dennise (Richard), Christina (Timothy); son Kenneth; nephew Brian (Tonya) and niece Michelle (Brian). He had nine grandchildren (preceded in death by grandson Joseph) and five great grandchildren.
Ronnie served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1970 where he was Honorably Discharged. There he served aboard the U.S.S. Puget Sound.
Ronnie is known for his contagious laugh and zest for life. He never knew a stranger and would often greet you as, "Hey Partner! How are you doing?" being ready to tell you about his many adventures and ready to listen to yours. Ronnie was especially proud of his Scottish heritage. For many years, he would participate in the Scottish Games, representing his clan in Batesville, AR. by participating in several events. He had the honor of holding the record in the Caber Toss.
Per Ronnie's request, his immediate family will have a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Ronnie's name, to either St. Jude's Children Hospital or the Arkansas Special Olympics. His family, as would Ronnie, will greatly appreciate your comments, stories, and picture you may share on his tribute wall.
