Roger Alan Hoover

Roger Alan Hoover was born to the late Frank and Jean Hoover, a father, husband and entrepreneur, in Lakewood, Ohio on November 8, 1951. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a salesman possessing a silver tongue and sharp intellect. He was fascinated with both the prospect and the operation of business, and he formed the skills he needed working for other companies into the catalyst for his own empire. He was the guiding force behind a poly manufacturing business and the holder of US Patents in that industry.

Roger was the father of David Hoover and Kelly Greenway with whom he shared his passion for adventure. He was a sailor, diver, skier and a pilot who loved to take part in those activities with his children on family trips. But he especially enjoyed the simple moments he shared with them as well - a delicious meal, a funny movie, or a heartfelt conversation about life.

Roger was an Army Veteran who proudly served. He was a member of the 101st Airborne division in Vietnam operating as a door gunner in the CH-47 Chinook twin rotor helicopter and an ombudsman to a one star General while serving in that theatre. He was eager to offer that he and the Army did more before 0800 AM than most! Roger was a believer in Christ Jesus and his saving grace. He obtained a degree in theology in seminary as he planned to serve as a pastor in retirement. His life was ended early on September 2, 2024 from cancer and he will be cherished and missed by who loved him.

Roger is survived by his wife Susan; his children and their spouses; and his grandchildren Cooper and Griffin. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings Scott, Kevin and Pam.

Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Noesser, Matt Burrows, Jacob Tyler, Tommy Bland, and Eddie Scott
