He was a United States Army veteran and worked for several years as a lineman for numerous different electric companies.  He loved to go canoeing, floating the river and was an avid outdoorsman.  Rodney was a gentle soul, with a kind heart who never met a stranger and always wanted to make everyone happy.  He was one of the good guys and wanted to always help anyone in need, he would give the shirt off his back if he thought someone really needed it.
