Major Robert “Bob” E. Palmer, (U. S. Army Retired) age 85, of Arkadelphia, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the V. A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 1, 1933 to Master Sargent Roy Compton and Mary Eddy Adams Palmer.

Bob served in the U. S. Army for over thirty years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Mason, involved with Gideons International, a member of National Association of County Veterans and Arkansas Veterans Service Officers Association.

He was the local V. A. representative for Clark County and surrounding areas for several years. Bob was a member of Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed being Santa Claus and even being the Easter Bunny.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Zuma Chadwick Palmer; one granddaughter, Amanda Collins and one brother, Richard Palmer.

Survivors are one son, Mark Palmer of Little Rock; one daughter, Anndriene Collins and husband, Troy of Greenbrier; three grandchildren, Jeremy Collins of Fayetteville, Tiffany Harrell of Greenbrier and Tyler Collins of Dover; four great-grandchildren, Conner Collins, Hunter Harrell, Adalee Harrell and Jaxson Harrell.

Service will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 21 st at Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Hardin officiating. Visitation will be prior to service starting at 9:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday, September 23 rd at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood.
