Roberta Jean Walker, 86, went to be with the Lord July 26, 2023. She was born April 27, 1937 in Alabam, Arkansas to the late Tom and Alba (Goucher) Hatfield.
Roberta loved the Lord and was a member of Central Arkansas Church of Christ in Bryant. She retired from Pulaski County School District after serving several years as secretary to the superintendent. Roberta loved spending time with her family, serving others, cooking, and travelling. She was a wonderful, caring wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her. Family gatherings and meals were her favorite time. Roberta loved preparing and serving food to family and friends-many times on her favorite china. She had a huge heart and always put others first, never asking for anything in return. Roberta enjoyed fishing and took it very seriously and always ended up catching the biggest fish. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking and preparing home cooked meals for family and friends. Roberta was affectionately nick named “The Cookie Lady”. Roberta was known to bring a family a meal, drop off a pie, or deliver a basket of cookies to families going through difficult times. Traveling was another one of Roberta’s favorite activities. She and Warren travelled extensively throughout the United States and internationally. Together, they also enjoyed their travels with the Mustang Club and the many Mustang Pony Drives they participated in. Roberta was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She always was beautifully dressed, but her true beauty shined from her loving heart and her desire to make everyone’s life a little sweeter.
Preceding Roberta in death are her parents, Tom and Alba Hatfield; grandson, Heath Lambert; and brother, Gary Hatfield.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 67 years, Warren Walker of Bryant, Arkansas; children: Teresa (Tom) Lambert of Landmark, Arkansas, Tim (Debbie) Walker of East End, Arkansas, and Tom (Carolyn) Walker of Bryant, Arkansas; grandchildren: JoAnn (James) Owens , Brittany (David) Keisler, Kayla (Kevin) Johnson, and Courtney (John) Hillis; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Aiden, Isabel, Matthew, Jackson, Devin, Aubrey, Jacey, Mason, Seth, Chris, Kendrik, and Payton; many other children who adopted her as “Nana” to whom she always had her door open to and a meal ready for them; brother, Dewayne “Pete” Hatfield of Huntsville, Arkansas; sisters: Anna May (John) Slaughter of Huntsville, Arkansas, Mary Kay (Joe) Stroub of Ozark, Arkansas, and Cheryl Cate of Huntsville, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends who will miss Roberta always.
