Robert "Bob" Lester Tate, 67, of Jacksonville, passed away May 11, 2015. He was born in Lake Village, Arkansas on December 2, 1947. He was a Christian. He loved singing, golfing, and bowling, and most of all, his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dale Hicks Tate; daughters, Buffy Tate Merrell (Greg) of Lebanon, Tennessee and Briana Blair Tate of Jacksonville; sisters, Jakie Gibson, Liz Aaron, Ritta Holiman and Linda Gosney; brother, Carl Tate; grandchildren, Elizabeth Merrell, Bradley Merrell and Rebekah Merrell, of Lebanon and great-grandson, Jude Snody, of Lebanon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Sharelle Tate, father, Jake Tate, mother, Essie Tate, and five brothers, Bill Tate, Jim Tate, Jerry Tate, Jessie Sharp and Lee Hilton.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Dumas Church of Christ, officiated by Mr. Jared Mayes.
