Robert Stewart, Jr.

Robert V. Stewart Jr., 85, of North Little Rock passed from this life on October 17, 2021. He was born January 1, 1936, in Jacksonville, Arkansas to the late Robert V. and Bessie G. (Bates) Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Scottish Rite. He loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed restoring tractors, riding motorcycles and flying airplanes. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-three years, Shelma Jean Stewart; brother, Gene Stewart; and son-in-law, Millard Payne.

Survivors include his children, Suzi (Monty) Holmes of Cabot, Lisa Payne of North Little Rock, grandchildren, Mandy Reid, Sam Holmes and Drew Payne. Other survivors include siblings, Evelyn Adams of England, Gary Stewart of Arizona, Terry Stewart of Pine Bluff and Sandy Burks of Wooster; great grandchildren, Simon, Jonah, Lucas, Tinsley and Collin; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00am, Friday, October 22, 2021, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Mr. Stewart will be laid to rest next to his wife at Union Valley Cemetery at 12:00pm, following the funeral. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
