Robert Reed

Robert H. Reed, 73 of North Little Rock, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011. He was born February 10, 1938 in Ashley County, Arkansas to Leo and Lela Winters Reed. Robert retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 30 years of service and was a member of the Local Union 78. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the D.A.V. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Farrell Reed and Jim Reed; 2 brothers, Charles Reed and Harold Reed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sonja Reed of North Little Rock; son, Rickey (Brenda) Reed of East End; daughter, Gale (Mitch) Long of North Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Sandy Reed of Conway; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Mary) Reed of North Little Rock, George (Brenda) Reed of North Little Rock and Harvey Reed of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Brad Baltz and his staff, and Baptist Health Hospice.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
