Robert "Son" "Pawpaw" Eugene Norwood, Sr. was born October 7, 1926, to Nannie and Clem Norwood, departed on October 8, 2012. Preceded in death by brother, Charles; sister, Hazel Huff; grandson, Brandon Carmichael; two nephews, Johnny and Tommy Marlow; several in-laws; and in special memory, Marshall Vern Ransburg, Jr.
Robert served in World War II and the Korean War. He was employed by the railroad for 45 years and Target Store for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Regina "Mimi" Norwood; sister, Vera Marlowe; children; Robert "Bobby" E. Norwood, Jr., Richard "Dickey" Norwood (Shawn), David Wayne Norwood, Sandy Reppucci (Jimmy Westmoreland), David Carmichael (Jenniffer K.), and Timothy Norwood (Melissa); grandchildren, CW4 Jennifer N. Collins, Robert "Robby" E. Norwood III, Ashlee R. Branham (Travis), Leena Reppucci, Ashton W. Harrison, Ethan Westmoreland, Jake Carmichael, Johnathon Carmichael, Jacob Carmichael, Kristopher Kerr, Nicholas Norwood and Natalie Norwood; great-grandchildren, Madison Collins, Hunter Collins, Payton Branham and Trystan Harrison; and many other family and friends.
A special thank you to VA Hospital staff, Dialysis and Palliative units.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
