Robert Anderson McGee received his heavenly reward on December 3, 2023, at his home in Sherwood, Arkansas, at the age of ninety-three years. Robert was born to Jeff and Della McGee on March 12, 1930, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
At the age of eighteen, he was diagnosed with tuberculous and was placed in a sanatorium in Booneville, Arkansas. There God sent two women to pray for him while he was dying. They said a simple prayer of faith and walked out. God miraculously healed him that day. After the x-rays confirmed his healing, with nowhere to go, he was offered a job as a male nurse for one dollar a day, a clean uniform, and all the food he could eat, for two years at the sanatorium.
He left the sanatorium and moved to California to live with his sister and family. While there God began to deal with him. After receiving the Holy Ghost in his early 20s, he met the love of his life Mary Lena Beall in East Los Angeles and they married on August 6, 1954.
Some of his accomplishments include: pastoring churches in Mayflower and Jacksonville, Arkansas, owning a furniture store and hardware store, and owning and operating a Western Sizzlin’ in Denton, Texas. After retirement, he moved back to Arkansas and has been a faithful saint of the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Imogene Hearn, brother Orville Wayne, brother Jimmy Dale, daughter-in-law Kim (Stripling) McGee, and granddaughter Christian Haar.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of sixty-nine years Mary Lena (Beall) McGee, son Nathan and wife Tonisa McGee, daughter Gail and husband Paul Johnson, five grandchildren Rachael Haar, Andy (Nina) McGee, Julian (Carmen) Haar, Ailena (Matthew) Martin, Taylor (Danielle) Johnson, Jaclyn Johnson, and Kason Haar, ten great-grandchildren, Bayla, Hadley, Jayce, Brinley, Ainsley, Beaudrie, Camila, Shepard, Kinley, and Eleanor, one brother, Rev. Dan McGee.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11am, Monday, December 11, 2023, followed by a funeral from 11am to 12:15pm at First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary Rd, North Little Rock. Entombment will begin at 1pm Rest Hills Memorial Park.
