Robert Martin

August 27, 1942 — February 6, 2020

Robert Martin

Robert Leighton Martin will be celebrated for his full life and love for his Lord, family, and friends with a service at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, 7351 Warden Road, Sherwood, AR at 3 pm on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Visitation with the family begins at 2 pm.  “Bobby” was born August 27, 1942 to Pearl and Erwin Jess Martin in Russellville, Arkansas.  He grew up with an older brother and sister, James Ervin and Elizabeth Laughter, and one younger sister, Beverly Ann Eagle, who all passed before him.  He leaves behind a wife of 54 years, Carol Hoff Martin, and two children, Dawn Clower (husband Heath) and Robert (Robby) Martin Jr, as well as three grandchildren, Leighton, Mykala, and Harrison Clower.  He also leaves countless numbers of friends who knew Bobby to have a dry, comical sense of humor, and a steady flow of random trivia knowledge.

After serving four years in the Air Force, Bobby attended and graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a B.S. in Art. He did architectural renderings at work, but his love was watercolor. He taught art and sociology in Perryton, TX, before moving to Arkansas. He had a long career in packaging sales. After retirement, he volunteered at the North Little Rock Municipal Airport that soon became a part-time job. His passion was flying and planes, with a deep knowledge of any airplane ever made. He could identify an airplane from sound alone. He passed on February 6, 2020, while at the airport.

Bobby was a founding member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship and worshipped and served regularly as a greeter on Sunday mornings. His close friendships at Cornerstone helped develop his love of the Lord. As his health declined, the friendships deepened, and he faced Heaven with joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, designated to Ethnos360 for the ministry of Sean and Jinny Richards. All Memorials should be made to Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, for the ministry of Ethnos360.
