Robert Floyd Martin of Little Rock and St. Charles, Arkansas, served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific for 32 months and participated in the invasion of five islands. He was Pastor of Beacon Bible Baptist Church of Little Rock and a Master Plumber for 47 years.
On Monday, August 27, 2007, he passed away at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Martin and Hettie J. Martin, son, Robert Sanford "Sandy" Martin, sister, Dorothy Lohnes, and a brother, George C. Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Graves Martin, of Pine Bluff; sons, Jose Torres and Carl L. Martin; daughters, Jeanne M. Atchley, Janelle E. Martin, and Michelle E. Martin; a sister, Sara Jo Freeman; and grandchildren, Robert Ellis, Christopher Ellis, Melissa Cox, Jeffrey Lee Martin, Rose Torres DeComo, Wendi Arnold, Kathy Fink and Irene Mills; and ten great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends, including a special friend, William Crisel, who lovingly cared for him.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 P.M. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Road) Little Rock. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. at Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Coker officiating. Burial with Military honors will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
