Robert Jones Lambert, Sr. of Little Rock, formerly of Newport, passed away on May 23, 2018. He was born May 6, 1929, in Holly Grove, AR, the son of Joel and Miriam Lambert.
Bob graduated from Holly Grove HS and then attended Yale University and the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Bob is also a veteran of the US Army. After college, Bob married the love of his life, Maribelle James Lambert. They settled in Newport where he was the owner and manager of Lambert Seed Company and later an aerial photography company. He was a deacon at the Presbyterian Churches of Newport and Greers Ferry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joel and Walker, his son in law, Charles Smith, and his wife Maribelle. He is survived by his son Robert Jr. (Amanda), daughter Evelyn Smith and son Paul (Stacy). Bob adored his grandchildren Kristin, Ian Smith, Lauren Jones, Greer, Neali, Clay, Ryan, Kara and Allen and his great-grandchild, Jackson Tarpley.
Bob loved his family and friends, duck hunting, gardening, the Razorbacks, and telling stories. His mind was always sharp... he could tell you what happened in 1945 or 45 minutes ago.
A reception will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 2nd at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com
