Robert Edward Humphrey

Robert Edward Humphrey 67, died Friday May 6, 2022 after a long and hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Josephine (Rafus) Humphrey, a sister Linda Ann Humphrey, grandparents Clyde and Elsie Humphrey and Andrew and Veronica Rafus.

Robert was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, and a 1972 graduate of Vilonia High School and an avid Nascar fan. He retired from Stone Container in Jacksonville, and before his illness had worked for Moore Heat & Air in Cabot and then in the maintenance department for the City of North Little Rock.

Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vicki Abbott-Humphrey of the home. Children Steven Lee Humphrey (Kim), of Dillard, OR, Tina Faye South (Nick) of Ozone, AR, Chad Allen Bridges (Jenny) of Cabot. Grandchildren Spencer Humphrey, Christopher and Juliana Bridges, Annaleigh and Gracelynn South, Michael Fitzpatrick (Chloe) and Bailey Hammett. 3 great-grandchildren MJ, Colette and Collum Fitzpatrick, 3 aunts, 2 uncles, several cousins and his fur babies Sophie and Bobby.

At a young age Robert enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He was always fixing four-wheelers and dirt bikes that the grand kids would break! He and Vicki enjoyed riding their Honda Goldwing and rode all 48 lower states and Canada. They made lifelong friends when they belonged to GWRRA AR-L. When Robert was no longer able to ride the bike, their friends still would get together and go out to eat.

A special thank you to the nurses on the Infusion floor at UAMS, Dr. T., Nadine Hough, Elite Hospice and Nurse Linzy Lester for the wonderful care and compassion that was shown to Robert.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery near Cabot.
