Robert “Bob” Gudinas, aged 84, of Hot Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

 

He was born July 15, 1937, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Frank Gudinas and Helen Kopil Gudinas.  On March 3, 1962, he married the love of his life, Nancy Nestor. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Liz Gudinas.

 

Bob was a Korean War United States Air Force Veteran, who was proud to serve his country.  After the service he worked in the restaurant business and had several jobs ending up in sales until he finally retired. Bob loved his family very much and enjoyed going flea marketing.  He helped with the Guardian Angels Cat Shelter and took care and fed any animal that he came across.   He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. 


He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Gudinas of Pearcy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Kevin Williams of Longview, Texas and Tami and Charles Hill of Pearcy; grandchildren, Kevin Shaw, Trase (Claire) Hendrix, Greg (Darian) Hill, Maggie (Trevor) Trent, Jennifer (Chris) Coen, Frankie (Cindy) Obrien, David Sultzer; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Loretta Gudinas of Portage, Indiana; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Arlene Gritton of Chesterton, Indiana and Phyllis and Rich Strain of Portage, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephew, extended family and a host of many good friends.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022, with Bryan Smith officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

 

Interment in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.

 

Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service.

 

Donations can be made to the Guardian Angel Cat Shelter or any charity of your choice.

 

Pallbearers are Kevin Shaw, Greg Hill, Trase Hendrix, Charles Hill, Kevin Williams and Steve Lee.

 

Honorary pallbearers are Ron Austin, Brenda Austin, Gerald Bumgardner, Dierksen Hospice and staff, Dr. Lynn Cleveland, Dr. James McCarley and the Guardian Angel Cat Shelter.
