Robert Eugene "Gene" White, 96, of Little Rock, passed from this life on April 18, 2020. He was born October 15, 1923 in Carlisle, Arkansas to the late Wayne W. and Annie Mearl Highfill White. Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps, flying 35 combat missions over Europe during World War II. He was employed by the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette for many years and was an active member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell White; son, Randy White; sister, Marion Godair; and son-in-law, Cleve Warrick. Mr. White was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know him.
Survivors include his children, Marcia (Frank) McEachron of Missouri, Susan Warrick of Little Rock; grandchildren, Kyle, Eric (Rachel) and Justin McEachron. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Micah, Sophie, Emilyn, and Marcie; siblings, Francis Shelton of Little Rock and Sharon Stephens of Florida.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gene's memory may be made to Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15524 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72211 or a veterans support organization of your choosing.
