Robert Gartland
Robert "J.B." Gartland, age 78 of Sherwood, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on September 17, 1935 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was the son on Eugene and Catherine Gartland.
Mr. Gartland was a retired Rural Carrier for the United States Postal Service and a United States Army Veteran and National Guard retiree. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Anne's In North Little Rock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a wife Betty Jane Gallitz, two brothers John Gartland and Glenn Gartland, sisters Annie Kvalheim, Elaine Kearney, Kay Fritz, Jean Calamari and Lou Alden, sister in law Margaret Kersten and a father in law David Zynda, and a sister in law and brother in law Kathy and Greg Dakins.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years ,Linda Gartland of Sherwood, Arkansas; children Randy (Julie) Gartland of Lighthouse, FL; Lisa (Tony) Palumbo of Dallas, Texas and Seth (Emily) Gartland of Grapevine, Texas; brothers Donald Gartland of Rio, Wisconsin, William Gartland of Rio, Wisconsin and Francis Gartland of Madison, Wisconsin; mother in law Mary Ann Zynda of Schofield, Wisconsin; brother in laws Daniel (Paula) Zynda of Ringle, Wisconsin, Michael Zynda of Parker, Arizona and James Zynda of Columbia, MO; a sister in law Lourie Goodearle of Schofield, Wisconsin and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, Arkansas. Burial will follow at a later date in Rio, Wisconsin.
