Robert Jerry "Bob" Brackin, 81, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born January 7, 1930, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Robert and Mattie (Jones) Brackin, and he died Wednesday, January 4, 2012. One of sixteen children, Bob was a Korean Conflict veteran, earning the United Nations Medal, Korean Ribbon, Japanese Occupation, Good Conduct and China Service awards. He was an accomplished steel guitar player and was a strong Christian who loved the Lord Jesus.
Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Melba (Petrie) Brackin; four children, June Brackin of Beebe, Cassie Turner (Doug) of Lewisville, Tracy Ragen (Gary) of Beebe and Scott Brackin (Christie) of Arcadia, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters; and six brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir Cemetery.
