Robert "Bob" Duke

Robert L. (Bob) Duke, 88, of Cabot, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord October 12, 2022.  He was born on December 24, 1933, in the Oak Grove Community to Howard and Jennie Duke. Bob started his career in manufacturing management at Timex and worked for AMF Bicycle and Virco Manufacturing before going to Dreamline Manufacturing in Cabot where he worked for over 30 years as Plant Manager.

He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 30 years.  He was a dedicated public servant, having served for 33 years on the Cabot City Council.  He also served on the Lonoke County Tax Equalization Board.  Bob was very instrumental in the effort to rebuild the city of Cabot after the 1976 tornado.

Bob is survived by his wife, Connie Russell of Cabot; one son, Garry Duke of Cabot; one daughter, Jenny (Chris) O’Shields of Searcy; six grandchildren, Amber (Brian) Chester, Holly (Steve) Glover, Ashley (Paul) Fry, Caleb (Amanda) O’Shields, Whitney (Barry) Hastings, and Rebekah (Matt) Duke; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jenny Ve (Jibby) Duke, and seven brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to Cabot First Baptist Church:  Foundations For The Future, Gideons International, or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, followed by graveside service at noon Saturday, at Oak Grove Cemetery.
