Robert "Wayne" Beardsley

Robert “Wayne” Beardsley, 79, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away May 31, 2023. Wayne was born
September 1, 1943 to the late James O. Beardsley and Marion (Womack) Beardsley.

Wayne was a faithful member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy as a
Submariner for eight years and then attended UALR earning a degree in Accounting. He then went on to
retire as a Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department in Little Rock. Wayne enjoyed spending time
on his party barge as often as he could and lived on the lake. He enjoyed playing golf and was a golf
caddy for many years. Wayne was an avid Razorback fan, and was even known to wear his lucky shirts to
certain games to help them win.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents: James O. Beardsley and Marion (Womack) Beardsley.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Geneva L. Beardsley of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter,
Belinda Gomez (Tim) of Conway, Arkansas; grandson, Zach Hodges of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother,
James Beardsley (Kay) of San Angelo, Texas; sister, Karen McRaven of Hot Springs, Arkansas; niece,
Sherrie Dunlap (Dale) of Wellington, Texas; great nephew, Jake Dunlap of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of
family members and friends that will all miss him dearly.

Wayne’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation with ARORA. Please consider making
the choice today to give life through organ donation. The Beardsley family wants to say a special thank
you to CHI St. Vincent- Hot Springs for going above and beyond in taking care of Wayne. Donations may
be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or Veterans Village.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7th, at 2:00 PM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322
N. Market St., Benton 72015.
