Rick was born in Smyrna, TN. His father was in the Air Force and so the family moved around but they always settled back in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Rick enjoyed playing football and softball with his friends. You could always find him with a guitar in his hands. He loved to do some pickin’. Rick loved being outside fishing, floating the Buffalo River, star gazing, and bird watching. He was an avid Razorback, St. Louis Cardinal, and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rick was a hard worker and spent his entire career working for college bookstores. He spent his time at UALR, UCA, and UNT. He helped at many other bookstores along the way. He worked his way up to the manager position where he was a very good and fair boss. He did not just have employees but he created a bookstore family.
Rick was mostly known for his kind heart. He was always putting others before himself and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his family and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Rick loved spoiling the kids. He bought them all of the push pops and fireworks that they could want. He took them scare riding and Christmas lite looking.
Rick was a devoted husband and the most loving father. He had been promoted to Pops and that was probably his favorite title. He loved to spend time with “Pop’s Boy” Brannon. He had already begun spoiling his granddaughter with all of the clothes and bows. He loved his family and always put them first.
