Ricky Charles Barnes, 60, of Haskell, Arkansas lost his fight in this life on June 7, 2017. He was a very brave and fierce warrior with his illness. Ricky was born November 9, 1956 in Independence, Missouri to Dorothy Frances Cates Skaggs and the late Charles Winfred Barnes. Ricky loved spending time at home with his family. He loved people-especially when they asked him for advice. His never allowed his disability to get him down. Ricky adored his grandson who affectionately called him "GG". Preceding Ricky in death are his father, Charles Winfred Barnes; and step-father, Bobby L. Skaggs. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Karla Barnes; son, Bobby Barnes; daughter, Kari Bratton and husband David; grandson, David Jr. "DJ" Bratton; mother, Dorothy Skaggs; six brothers, Randy Barnes, Michael Barnes, Kevin Barnes, Winfred "Chuck" Barnes, Brett Barnes, and Stacey Skaggs; uncle, Monroe Cates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him always. Reception visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas; Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bryan Monteroso, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 15, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
