Rickey Lewis Wells, age 74, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to the late Vernon Lewis Wells and Retha Faye Wells of Benton, Arkansas. He is survived by his sisters, Verna Faye Hogue (Roy Edgar Hogue) and Sharon Kay Witham (Wilburn Lee Witham) from Benton, Arkansas. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved so much and that loved him so much.
Rickey gave his heart to Jesus on September 2, 1982, and was baptized by the beloved and late Bro. John Clement of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas. He later moved his membership to Sharon Missionary Church of Benton.
You could always count on Rick tossing you a peppermint or a piece of gum, helping with the chores such as taking out the trash, despite his disability from early childhood, or his unwittingly giving you a big laugh that we all, including Rickey, found funny.
Rickey was a firm believer in Christ and has been known to suddenly break out in prayer, as we all would stop in our tracks and bow our heads. Rickey has touched so many lives by his pureness of heart, whether he realized it or not. He will be dearly missed by so many people!
Saline Memorial Hospice took care of him at his sister’s home, Verna Faye Hogue and Roy Hogue, in Benton. They came in several days a week and did an awesome job and he appreciated them so much. We give a special appreciation to his care givers Donna and Anna who became like family to Rick! We also appreciate Smith Benton Funeral Home for arrangements.
The memorial service will be held from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Smith Benton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
