Rickey Ray Neill (1948–2024)

Rickey Ray Neill, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and husband,

passed from this Earth and gained his greatest reward on August

26th, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born in Downy, California to

parents Sherma and Ray Neill. In early 1970, he moved to Kansas

City, Missouri, where he raised his family and happily lived out his life.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Allen,

Danny and Billy.

He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty wonderful years, Karen Jean

Neill and 6 children: Jerry Ruby (Tina), Tammy Parish (Keith), Big

Rick Neill (Joanna), Ricky Ruby (Joyce), Jeff Ruby (Candy), Kelli

Centofante (Dominic).

He leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Chrissy, Mike, Jon, Teri, Travis,

Jessica, Jeff, Nathan, Geri Rae, Little Rickey, Ryan, Matthew, Haven,

Dakota, and Hailey. Also 34 Great Grand Children: Slayde, Lexi,

Adam, Gage , Colt, Jolean, Lilly, Mia , Millie, Lindsey , Hailey, Trevor ,

Jason, Lane, Stetson, Lilly, Michael , Gabriel , Klaicey , Karley, Kiley,

Bentley, Hazley, Niley, Emery, Clark, Colton, Colby, Jax, Harper,

Margie and 3 more on the way.

Our sweet Rick touched the lives of many through his favorite things:

his unwavering faith, humor, love for his family, and his passion for

nature. He thrived being surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

His love for hunting knew no bounds (even wearing a suit under his

coveralls to get an extra hunt in before Sunday morning services).

Who really knows which was more fun for him, the actual hunting and

tracking, or getting to tell his stories to his friends and family.

Rick was a devoted member of the First Pentecostal Church for 43

years, where his warm smile and kind heart made everyone feel

welcome and loved. He cherished the fellowship of his church family

and found great joy in worship and prayer, and the solace of being in

the presence of God.

His greatest joy came from being a grandfather. He loved doting on

his grandchildren and teaching them about the wonders of the natural

world, while also instilling in them a sense of wonder and love for God.

Whether it was fishing by the lake, exploring the trails or taking them

to church he reveled in their company.

Rickey Ray Neill lived a full and happy life, leaving behind cherished

memories and a legacy of love. As we mourn his passing, let us

celebrate the joy he brought to our lives and honor his memory by

continuing to embrace the things he held dear.

Rest in peace, dear friend. Your spirit will forever live on in the rustling

leaves, the laughter of children, and the praises of generations to

come in the church.
