Rickey L. Floyd, age 60, of Kirby, died Saturday, July 9, 2011. He was born on December 17, 1950 at Arkadelphia, the son of John Leonard Floyd and Jessie Chambers Floyd. On September 9, 1972, he married Judy Manning. He was preceded in death by his father. A United States Army veteran, he was the founder of Floyd Trucking, Inc. and a Christian in his faith. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed being with his family and friends and truly loved life. He is survived by his wife, Judy Floyd of Kirby; his son, Jamie Floyd of Hot Springs; his daughter and son-in-law, April and David Porter of Kirby; six grandchildren, Shana Turner and her husband, Glenn, Bryan Ford, Larissa Porter, Cutter Ford, Dalton Floyd and Johnna Floyd; his mother, Jessie Haynie of Kirby; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Troyse and Charlotte Ward of Madisonville, Tennessee and Dempsey and Rhonda Floyd of Bonnerdale; and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Dewayne Mack and Dewight Mack officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Gilbert White, Danny Dunlap, Bobby Epperson, Tommy Anderson, Charles Jones and Roy Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Epperson, Larry Garner and Ronnie O'Neal.
