Richard William Woolfe "Dick", 90, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday afternoon in his home with his family at his side. Leaving this earthly home and all his frailness to be made whole again in the presence of his loving God. He was born July 16, 1917 in Decatur, Michigan to Alva Wolfe and Sarah Olive Ensign. Preceeded in death by his parents, brother Leo, and sisters Jessie, Doris and Christine. He joined the United States Air Force to proudly serve his country and fellow Americans, and retired after 31 years calling Arkansas his home. He served in the United States, and many other countries to make our world a much better place. He served in WW II and in the Viet Nam War. His love for his country was felt by all who new him and was passed down to others. He is survived by His wife, Jewel M. Bost Woolfe (Julie) of 58 years of Jacksonville and his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Woolfe, of North Little Rock. He is also survived by California family including his daughter Penney Woolfe-O'Brien of Bloomington, CA and son, Rick Woolfe-Tracy, of Wrightwood, Ca., along with many friends & family including his sister, Naomi Wolfe-Kahle, 98 of Illinois along with his many nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children. Being a loving, gentle and serving man he dedicated his life to making life better for others. He was instrumental in starting the North Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department, the North Pulaski County Volunteer Ambulance Service, volunteering at the American Red Cross, taught CPR and '55 Alive' courses for AARP,so those who were over 50 could get discounts. After retirement from the USAF, he worked for many years for the Cabot Animal Clinic in service for his 4 legged friends. He loved life, his family, friends and everyone he met. He has many lifelong friends and special family members who have always been there for him. Visitation and celebration of his life will be held at Huson Funeral Home on JFK, NLR on Monday, April 14, from 5 to 8 pm and his funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, on April 15, also at Huson Funeral Home, JFK. He will be laid to rest at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in NLR. Memorials may be made to 'Heifer International' or a Humane Society of choice, continuing to help others in his name. Visit
