Richard Shelton

Richard Ernest Shelton Jr, age 49, passed away November 03, 2024, in Conway, Arkansas 

Richard is preceded in death by his father, Richard Ernest Shelton, Sr. 

Richard is survived by his daughter Zoe Rebecca, mother Patricia Shelton, brother William "Drew" Shelton, sister Holly Bryant, special love Deidra Hill, and a host of family and friends, as well as his beloved Shepards, Atlas and Isabella.

Richard graduated from North Vermillion High School in Indiana in 1993, afterwards he started his career as an electrician at the Little Rock Electrical JATC. Richard was initiated into the Local Union 295, IBEW that same year. He was a proud member for over 30 years. 

For the Local Union 295 he was the Assistant as well as Business Manager, President, Recording Secretary/Treasurer, Executive Board Chairman, and Local Union Political Registrar. He held Board Positions the AR Chapter NECA-IBEW Retirement Plan Trustee, LR Electrical JATC Chairman & Trustee, Central Arkansas Building and Construction Trades Council - President, AR State Electrical Workers – President, Various Political/Legislative Committees, and Arkansas AFL-CIO Executive Board. He was appointed by the governor as a committee member to SEAC District 1.

Outside of work he loved his daughter, mother and the German Shepherd pups. He loved anything outdoors to hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

A Visitation will be held Monday, November 11th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the Funeral Service at 2 P.M. Cremation arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas.
