Richard Dick? Allen Self, 67, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock.
Born to James Willard and Lydia Irene Crane Self on May 25, 1941, in Rushville, Indiana, Mr. Self served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. While stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, he met his beloved wife, Linda Ann Davis. They married on November 3, 1962, and shared forty years together until her death in December 2002.
Mr. Self was retired from the United States Air Force and the Veteran?s Administration Hospital.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Self was preceded in death by brothers, James and Kenneth, and sisters, Dorothy, Virginia, Hartzel, Margery and Winnona.
He is survived by one son, Gregory Allen Self and his wife Laurie of Benton; one daughter, Kimberlee Ann Self Hardy of Cabot; son-in-law, Todd Hardy, of Jacksonville; five granddaughters, Kayla McPherson-Turner and husband, Bill Ray of North Little Rock, Karisa Hardy of Cabot, Morgan Ruckman of Benton, Kyndal Hardy of Cabot and Korie Self of Benton; one unborn great grandchild, Lydia Lee-Ann Turner; two brothers, William ?Bob? Self and wife Lelea of Rushville, Indiana and Billy Self and wife Lois of Franklin, Indiana; one sister, Annabelle Shelton of Simpsonville, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Harold Davis Jr. and wife Judy of Benton; sister-in-law, Deborah Cates of Cabot, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Self is also survived by his special companion, Shirley Clark of Cabot; and special friends, Angie and Eric Schnebelen, Steve and Linda Holland, Larry Majors, Don Russell, and Danny and Janice Edwards, all of North Little Rock.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
