Richard Palmer, 88, of Alpine, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home.
He was born May 7, 1934, to Page Alan and Estelle Rinkle Palmer.
Richard worked as a sawmill operator, logger and truck driver. He enjoyed raising his garden and cattle and fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Marie Palmer; his brothers, Clyde and Pat Palmer; and his grandson, Todd Alan Palmer.
Survivors include his five sons: Richard Forest (Teresa) of Amity, Bruce (Joy) Rowland of Arkadelphia, Jimmy Palmer of Amity, Randy (Mona) Palmer of Alpine and Dwight “Fred” (Machelle) Palmer of Alpine; his two daughters, Wanda (Jimmy) Jones of Glenwood and Debbie (Stevie) Lambert of Amity; one brother, Ed Palmer of Glenwood; three sisters, Faye Davis of Amity, Thelma Lee (Wayne) Sexton of Texas and Jean (Marty) Moncrief of McGhee, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, August 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Amity First Baptist Church with Brother Keith Howell and Brother John McAnally officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Forrest, Donnie Forrest, Steven Forrest, Stephen McAnally, Doug Rowton and Scott Cook.
