Richard Marcus Ogden passed away on Monday, November 25, at the age of 87. He was born September 19, 1932 in San Diego, California to Colin and Elizabeth Bryant Ogden. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph and Fred, sisters Elizabeth and Rose.
Richard attended Parks College (now part of St. Louis University) participating in Air Force ROTC. He received a degree in aeronautics/meteorology and a commission in the US Air Force. After two years active duty service he transitioned to the Air National Guard continuing his military service attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. While serving in the guard he worked as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NOAA) in Spokane, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Fort Smith and Little Rock, AR. He was also active in the local chapter of the national Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).
Richard became a Christian at the age of 20 and served faithfully in churches wherever he, and Nancy lived, most recently at Woodland Heights Baptist Church; serving as a deacon, choir member, greeter and as the treasure chest master for the Awana childrenâs program. He loved traveling and woodworking. Richard used his woodworking skills building churches in Arkansas with the Nailbender for Jesus (AR Southern Baptist Convention) and many projects at Woodland Heights.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years Nancy Alexander Ogden; children Kathy Woodcock (Lance), Charles Ogden (Rhonda), and Daniel Ogden (Brenda) all of Conway. Granddaughters Shelley Cullum (Michael), Erin Rappold (Patrick) of Conway and Meagan Arnold (Alex) of Baton Rouge, LA. Great granddaughters Ashton, Kylie and Scarlet Rappold and Kendall Cullum. Brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sharon Lever of Fort Smith and many nieces nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service 11 am, November 30 at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, Conway. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 am. There will be a private family burial on Monday, December 2, Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway.
