Richard Haaser

Richard Alois (Dick) Haaser, 87, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010. He was born August 21, 1922 to Alois O. Haaser from Fremont, Ohio and Mildred Ellen (Spracklen) Haaser from Belvue, Kansas. He graduated from St. Ann's Academy and joined the Marines, serving aboard the U.S.S. Helena at Pearl Harbor and in the South Pacific. He completed flight school and then flew over sixty air-to-ground support missions for the Marines in Korea, retiring as a Captain. He worked for Western Electric Company as a supervisor and retired from Southwestern Bell. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don, sister, Patsy and son, Richard Michael. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna Marie (Koenigseder) Haaser; son, Bob (Kay) of Irving, Texas; daughters, Mildred Pearce (Pat) and Theresa Haaser, both of Little Rock; brothers, Jack, George and Jim; five grandchildren, Bobby (Stephanie), Christie (Felix) and Elizabeth Haaser and Ricky (Melissa) and Matthew Pearce; and one great-grandchild, Lathan Pearce.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 North Tyler St., celebrated by Msgr. Royce Thomas. Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 2 at 6 p.m. with the Rosary service at 7:00 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).
Memorials may be made to the Msgr. Allen Trust and Development Fund or a charity of one's choice.
