Richard Dike

Richard "Dick" Dike, 91, of Maumelle, Arkansas, left this earth to join his beloved wife, Bonnie, in heaven on her birthday, Sunday May 18, 2014. He was born in North Platte, Nebraska on February 19, 1923 to the late Ernest and Ethel Dike. He grew up in the Curtis, Moorefield, Nebraska area. Dick served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from the Union Pacific Fruit Express.
His greatest joys in life came from spending time with family, golfing and wood carving.
He was preceded in death by three siblings, (Wilsey, Eddie, and Irene) and is survived by siblings, (Beula, Tressa, Arthur "Bill", and Jim). He and Bonnie are also survived by daughter, Denise Wood and husband Michael of Maumelle, Arkansas, grandson, Josh Wood/Jessica, (great grandchildren, Jade, Riley and Blaine). Grandson, Aaron Wood/Corey (great grandchildren, Dillon, Michaela and Brianna) all of North Little Rock and a large extended family throughout the Midwest.
There will be a graveside service with Military honors at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arkansas Heart Association, 909 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
