Richard Earl Davidson passed away on December 13, 2018. He was 86 years old, a prostate cancer survivor, succumbing to ventricular fibrillation following a heart attack. He wrote much of this obituary. Now he and his wife, Elaine Krupczak Davidson, are once again together. Richard was a retired Lt. Colonel, USAF navigator and the original owner/operator of Mr. Dunderbak’s Bavarian Pantry in McCain Mall, North Little Rock, 1973-‐1990. He loved watching the deer in Hot Springs Village and routinely fed them corn on his driveway. Early in life he was a trumpet player and singer in his own band. He loved and kept up with current music. He was born November 14, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Earl Carlisle Davidson and Mary Jakubaitis Davidson. His Stepmother was Glenna Blue Davidson. He grew up in Grand Rapids and Portage, Michigan where he loved the lakes and even as a teenager had his own boat. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Brian Davidson (1957, 21 days old) and wife Elaine (1999). He leaves behind four wonderful children: Laura Christine Davidson Stanley (Robert) and Brian Richard Davidson (Myra) the children of Elaine Davidson; and Joseph Donald Lackey (Ashley) and John Robert Lackey (Vanessa) the sons of Shirley Lackey who comforted Richard during the final months of his illness. Richard was eternally grateful to his dear friend Linda Simpson, who preceded him in death, for helping him through the period following his wife’s death. Richard also leaves behind five granddaughters, five grandsons, and one great grandson as well as his beloved dogs Stormy and Brandy. Richard’s funeral will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in North Little Rock. The family requests that gifts be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Arrangements made by Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home.
