Richard King

Richard C. King, 68, of Alexander, Arkansas passed from this life on April 26, 2019. He was born November 12, 1950 in England, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Robinson; and father, Walter King, Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Lancaster and husband Gerald of Benton; nieces, Tina Majors and husband Don of Benton, and Elizabeth Beaugard of San Antonio. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Richard worked for the City of Little Rock in the Parks Department. He started at the age of 20 as a laborer, worked his way up through each department until his retirement 44 years later as Park Superintendent.
Richard collected cars throughout his life and after retirement he joined a Corvette club. He attended several car shows displaying his pride and joy, a Mallett Corvette, which won several trophies. This was something he enjoyed very much and made many new friends.
Richard is also survived by his best friend and constant companion, Bubba, a 14-year-old Chow mix who still waits on the front porch for Rick to come home.
Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00-12:00, Saturday, May 11, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
