Richard Carr

September 21, 1925 — July 30, 2018

Richard Carr, age 92, of Mount Ida, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018. He was born on September 21, 1925 in Mauldin, the son of Edgar Freeman Carr and Mary Florence Baugus Carr. On September 14, 1945, he was married to Louise Smith Carr who preceded him in death on April 3, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Virgie Haymes; his grandson, Jason Haymes; and two step-grandchildren, Jim Ed Thomas and Sharon Thomas. He retired as a television repairman and attended the Grenade Holiness Church in Pencil Bluff. He enjoyed working in the yard, mowing the grass and tending to the flowers. He always loved being with his family. He is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Wilma and Jim Thomas of Little Rock, Verna French of Hudson, New York, Shirley and Jerry Renuard of Mount Ida and Robert Haymes of North Little Rock; two granddaughters, Dena Reagan and her husband, Ray, and Kimberly Thomas; three step-grandchildren, Michael Renuard and his wife, Angela, Josh Renuard and his wife, Rhonda, and Joy Montgomery; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Desiree Thomas, Carsten Thomas, Noah Thomas, Ahron Renuard, Kevin Renuard, Amanda Lambright, Craig Lambright, December Barthel, Owen Barthel, Mishella Renuard, Jonathan Renuard, Aubrey Montgomery, Isaac Renuard and Joshua Davidson. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 3, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Danny Tillery officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Big Fir Cemetery near Mount Ida. Pallbearers will be Michael Renuard, Joshua Renuard, Dale Morris, Ronald Norris, Ray Reagan and L. J. Warneke. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Irons, Howard Graves and Jerry Bobo.
