Richard Bemberg

Richard Herman Bemberg, 57, of Little Rock died in hospice on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born November 10, 1958 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Herman Henry Bemberg, Jr. and Lois Webb Bemberg. He is survived by his three siblings and their adult children: Tom Bemberg and wife, Paula; their son, Martin; Dana Bemberg Campbell and husband, Charles; their daughter, Lydia and son, Thomas; Bob Bemberg and wife, Lydia; their sons Philip (Sarah) and Robert (Emily) and their son Emmett; maternal aunt, Ann Stokes and her husband, Calvin; cousins Jessica Stokes, Susan McLawhorn, and David Stokes and their families, of eastern North Carolina; and Ms. Daryl Newcomb, longtime and very dear friend, neighbor, and loving caregiver.
Richard was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod). He graduated from Central High School in 1977. He was a co-owner of Bemberg Iron Works, his family's steel business. Richard loved to visit his North Carolina relatives; he also loved to cook and eat; he enjoyed family gatherings and hosting family dinners at his favorite Little Rock restaurants. He adored his rescue dogs, especially Sam, his best and closest canine friend. Richard loved and valued his neighbors on the block, welcoming opportunities to help, befriend, and support them. As he aged, he was grateful for the circumstances of his life that allowed him to see and embrace the good in helping others.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 1 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 5124 Hillcrest Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72205. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
