Richard Paul Beals, age 64 of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at his home. He was born August 21, 1943 in Clark County the son of Monroe and Lillie Mae Cobb Beals. He was a self-employed painter for 55 years. He was a Christian and member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Francis Oliver Beals, one son, David Beals and wife Maryetta of Donaldson, one daughter Debbie Beals of Arkadelphia, one grandson, Dustin Paul Beals and wife Hollie of Donaldson, one great grandson Connor Paul Beals, six brothers, Charles Beals of Porterville, CA, Wayne Beals of Arkadelphia, Orville Beals of Bonnerdale, Doyle and Melton Beals of Hot Springs and Ronnie Beals of Royal, one sister, Thelma Garrett of Royal and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, May 2, in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hargett, Dr. John Small and Rev. John Howard officiating with burial in the Golden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 547 Mt. Zion Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923. Pallbearers will be David Brown, Mike Moore, Vic Massanelli, David Madden, Gary Ward, and Arlon Seale, Honorary Pallbearers: Dustin Paul Beals and Connor Paul Beals.
