Richard Duane Alison, 61 of Sherwood, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana; he was the son of Hartwell Judson Alison "Buddy" and Mildred McDowell Alison. Richard was raised in Benton, Louisiana, graduating from Benton High School in 1965; he then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Louisianan Tech University in Rustin, Louisiana in 1971. He was a retired network administrator, who loved reading, expanding his knowledge of learning, military history, computers and camping. Richard was a wonderful husband and father and he was extremely close to his wife and daughter. He was preceded in death by his father Hartwell Judson Alison "Buddy", and grandparents Thomas and Louella McDowell. Survivors include his wife Mildred Gibson Alison of Sherwood; daughter Bronwyn Alison; a mother Mildred M. Alison; a brother Rory Alison; and three very close friends that the family thanks for their love and support for over the years: Bill Snyder, Rick Schaeffer, and George O' Melia. The family would also like to express their deep appreciation to all their families and friends for all the support that has been given. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 7700 Hwy 107, in Sherwood, Arkansas 72120. Visitation will be held Saturday from Noon until the service time at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sherwood Senior Citizen Center, 2301 Thornhill Drive, Sherwood, Arkansas, 72120 or The American Diabetes Association.
