Richard Adcock

Richard L. Adcock, Jr., 91 of North Little Rock passed away Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born March 30, 1925 in Belleview, Arkansas to Richard Adcock, Sr. and Margaret Lee Adcock. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and was a member of Levy Church of Christ. He spent his life as a paint contractor. In his later years he left his creative mark while restoring various Little Rock historical landmarks such as the Old State House and the birth house of General Douglas MacArthur.
Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Jones Adcock; children, Connie Hay (John) and Rick Adcock (Margaret); grandchildren, Robert Wellenberger (Savannah), Matt Wellenberger (Carrie), Tiffany Sparks (David) and Anna Leatherwood (Cory); nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Carolyn Adcock Wellenberger.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Homes, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
